- This standard applies to GSM mobile telephones (“product”) which use battery as power source, and with main functions of conducting telephone conversation and sending/receiving messages.
- The specific absorption rate (SAR) of the product shall be less than 0.6 W/kg.
- The outer casing and surface coating of the product shall not contain nickel or chromium.
- The mercury and cadmium content of the product shall be less than 2 ppm and 5 ppm, respectively.
- The lead content in the product’s coating, electrical wiring and plastic components shall be less than 10 ppm.
- The product shall not contain beryllium oxide.
- The battery used in the product shall meet the criteria of Green Mark rechargeable battery.
- The plastic components used in the product shall not contain the following flame retardants:
- polybrominated biphenyls, (PBB);
- polybrominated diphenylethers, (PBDE): monobrominated diphenylether, dibrominated diphenylether, tribrominated diphenylether, tetrabrominated diphenylether, pentabrominated diphenylether, hexabrominated diphenylether, heptabrominated diphenylether, octabrominated diphenylether, nanobrominated diphenylether, decabrominated diphenylether.
- long-chained chloroparraffins with 10-13 carbon atoms per molecule and chlorine content of greater than 50% by weight.
- The product's major plastic components shall not contain chlorine bromide.
- The product, its manufacturing process and its shipping packaging shall not contain or use substances controlled by the Montreal Protocol.
- The product shall include labels on all major plastic components, indicating the composition code to facilitate future recycling. Codes should meet ISO 11469 requirements.
- The name and address of the Green Mark user must be clearly printed on the product or on the packaging material. For non-manufacturing Logo users, the manufacturer's name and address shall also be shown.
- The product or its packaging shall bear a label reading "Low Pollution".
Notes:
- The product specified in this standard means the body (includes LCD, circuits board and outer casing) and keys/touch pad of mobile telephones.
- Corrugated cartons used for packaging shall be made from recycled pulp with at least 80% recycled paper. Plastic packaging must not contain polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or other chlorine containing plastics.
