- The term "non-asbestos friction material" is meant to include brake lining, trasmission lining and related products. Based on material used, semi-metal based, organic based, paper based, and cork based.Products shall contain no asbestos.
- The biodegradability of the product shall be equal to or higher than 60% when tested ISO 14851 and ISO 14852 standards. The biodegradability shall be equal to or higher than 70%, when tested against ISO 14855 Standard.
- Products are considered to be the same if they use the same material and differ only in size, shape and packaging.
- The name and address of the "Green Mark" user must be clearly printed on the product or on the package. For non-manufacturing Logo users, the manufacturer's name and address shall also be shown.
- Product or package shall also bear a label reading "Non-asbestos Product".
