Printers

  1. The measured energy consumption value, setup of energy saving modes and recovery time of Green Mark qualified printers (“products”), shall meet the most current requirements of Energy Star qualified printers (see Note 1).
  2. Plastic components of the product weighing 25 g or greater shall meet the following requirements:
    • shall not contain cadmium, lead, hexavalent chromium or mercury (see Note 2);
    • shall not contain the following flame retardants (see Notes 3 and 4):
      • polybrominated biphenyls, (PBBs);
      • polybrominated diphenylethers, (PBDE): monobrominated diphenylether, dibrominated diphenylether, tribrominated diphenylether, tetrabrominated diphenylether, pentabrominated diphenylether, hexabrominated diphenylether, heptabrominated diphenylether, octabrominated diphenylether, nanobrominated diphenylether, decabrominated diphenylether.
      • chloroparaffins with 10-13 carbon atoms per molecule and chlorine content of greater than 50% by weight.
  1. For laser-printing type product, the measured ozone emissions shall be less than 0.02 mg/m3 , and the measured particulate concentration shall be less than 0.025 mg/m3 (see Note 5).
  2. In accordance with their respective printing speeds and printing technologies, the noise level of the products shall be based on the measured sound power level and shall meet the following requirements. If the measured sound power level can not be obtained, the measured sound pressure level may be used instead (see Note 6).

  1. Product’s plastic components weighing 25 g or greater or with surface area 200 mm2 or greater, shall meet the requirements of ISO 11469, which include labelling all major plastic components in prominent area to indicate the composition code and recycling symbol to facilitate future recycling.
  2. If the applied marking or labels are difficult to be separated with the marked components, they shall be made from the same materials as the components they attached to.
  3. The product and its manufacturing process shall not contain or use substances controlled by the Montreal Protocol.
  4. The product packaging shall not used substances controlled by the Montreal Protocol. Corrugated carton used for product packaging shall contain at least 80% recycled paper.
  5. The name and address of the Green Mark user must be clearly printed on the product or on the packaging material.

Notes:

  1. Measurements of product energy consumption shall be based on international, national or specific industry standards, such as the IEC 62301 Household electrical appliances - Measurement of standby power.
  2. Determinations of hexavalent chromium, cadmium, lead and mercury, shall be based on international, national or specific industry standards, such as US EPA 3060A/NIEA R353.00C(US EPA 3050B)/US EPA 3051A/US EPA 3052, and the detection limits shall be no greater than 2 ppm.
