  1. This standard applies to multi-function office equipment (“product”), with at least three (3) of the printing, scanning, faxing, and copying functions.

  2. The power consumption of the product, as measured in processed images per minute (IPM) or printed pages per minutes (PPM), shall meet the following requirements:

  3. If laser printing method is used in the product, the ozone and the particulates emissions shall be less than 0.04 mg/m3 and 0.25 mg/m3 of the product body volume, respectively.

  4. If ink jet printing method is used in the product, the content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the ink shall be less than 5% by weight, and shall be stated in the enclosed product literature.

  5. The plastics used in the product shall meet the following requirements:
    • lead or cadmium shall not be used in the product or during the manufacturing process;
    • the following flame retardants shall not be used:
      1. polybrominated biphenyls, (PBB);
      2. polybrominated diphenylethers, (PBDE): monobrominated diphenylether, dibrominated diphenylether, tribrominated diphenylether, tetrabrominated diphenylether, pentabrominated diphenylether, hexabrominated diphenylether, heptabrominated diphenylether, octabrominated diphenylether, nanobrominated diphenylether, decabrominated diphenylether.
      3. long-chained chloroparraffins with 10-13 carbon atoms per molecule and chlorine content of greater than 50% by weight.


  6. If the product is capable of color printing, the color toner/dye/ink shall not contain azo-dyes.

  7. Any plastic components used in the product with weight equal to or greater than 100 grams, or with surface area equal to or greater than 100 cm2 shall be labeled with identification mark.

  8. The product shall be disassemblable, meaning it can be disassembled with regular tools (for example, a screw driver).

  9. The product, its manufacturing process and its shipping packaging shall not contain or use substances controlled by the Montreal Protocol.

  10. The name and address of the Green Mark user must be clearly printed on the product or on the packaging material. For non-manufacturing Logo users, the manufacturer's name and address shall also be shown.

  11. The product or its packaging shall bear a label reading 'Low Pollution and Energy Saving'.

Notes:
  1. 1st-stage energy saving mode: none of the major functions has been activated, but the product is capable of activating desired function after minimal delay.
  2. 2nd-stage energy saving mode: none of the major functions has been activated, but the product is capable of activating desired function after significant delay.
  3. Power-off model: The product’s lowest power consumption mode while being plugged-in.
